Wrestling Club

The UMASS Wrestling Club was revitalized during the 2004 fall semester. The club really got going in the fall of 2005 however, as former national champion Tim Morris was brought aboard as head coach, although his stint would only last 2 years. The team has placed over 10 wrestlers in confrences the past 2 years including finalists - Mitchell Barish (174,2007), Connor Sheridan (197, 2008) and Greg Cormier (184, 2007 & 174, 2008). UMASS Wrestling attracts many quality high school standouts including several former state champions and many sectional champions. During the fall 2007 semester, despite not having a coach, the team defeated Division III Western New England College.
