The West Experiment Station is one of the oldest buildings on the UMass Amherst campus. It is located on North Pleasant Street adjacent to Northeast and near the Worcester Dining Commons.

One of two locations (along with East Experiment Station) where a community outreach program was originally offered.

In the early days of the school's existence, local farmers could bring samples of their soil and crops to be examined by professors & students. The service was offered as a program of Community Outreach, one of the pillars of the school's founding.

The service is still offered today.
