Thanks to the COM352 students for contributing a bunch of new pages! I'll be moving these pages into the main area of the wiki soon.
Vanity page
From UMassWiki
A vanity page is a page about a person or other entity which is not especially notable to the UMass Amherst community at large. If you are creating a vanity page about yourself, it belongs on your user page.
An example of something that is a vanity page might include Bob Smith, a (fictional) freshman who just showed up and wrote a page about himself. Being a grad student or an officer in an RSO or student government also doesn't count, nor does being in a band that most people haven't heard of.
An example of something that is not a vanity page might include John Smith, a (fictional) student who won some kind of prestigious national academic award, started a successful student business which was featured in the Collegian, or single-handedly carried the football team to an undefeated victory. And so on.
Rule of thumb: If you're writing it about yourself, it probably belongs on your user page. You can edit your user page by clicking your name at the top of the page once you have logged in.
