"Morning", Tom, and welcome to the course wiki! Don't neglect to read through the information and follow the links provided above. I see you already figured out the code for "Table of Contents", but Atshekleton needs help. "Crunk"? I guess I'll find out when I see the other side of the dialogue. Hey, don't forget to check out changes to the Homepage! steph (COM) 11:32, 18 February 2007 (EST)
[edit] March 6 Homework question
Hi there Tom! I answered your question back on my Discussion Page. Notice that I moved your question from the very bottom up to the section you started way back on our first wiki day. See you soon! steph (COM) 21:56, 5 March 2007 (EST)

[edit] "Really?"
Keep bustin' me, Tom - I like to be kept on my toes. :-) I am not sure which message you were responding to - about the extra credit point? And what is this about: you're "not the only one who just didn't do" what? Something I "didn't really even say [you] needed to"??? If you have a paper you would like for me to look over, email it to me. And HEY - I only caught your message by accident as I happened to be scanning for something else, those subtitle headings are how I know where to look (it's my old brain, y'know - needs lots of hints to keep me on track). steph (COM) 11:41, 16 March 2007 (EDT)
[edit] "but"
Nice work on your User Page. :-) What do you think about using the actual titles of your Unit 1 and Unit 2 papers? Might be more appealing to the random reader? And, I don't see your one paragraph on Unit 3 (I imagine you were distracted with wikiteam stuff but that does need to get done, too). btw, I responded to your thoughts on "but". :-) steph (COM) 16:56, 2 April 2007 (EDT)
[edit] narrative
Hey Tom,
Your rewrite is fantastic, and, there are still two different things going on it that you have not integrated: one is the sense of threat/suspense that you build up in the first paragraph or two.....we never return to that, so there is a let-down/puzzle for the reader at the end.
The other part is your formulation of identity (awesome!) - you can still set it up more clearly in the beginning, I think. Perhaps there is a way to integrate the foreshadowing of your three-part model early, and then use it to leverage your way "back" to that sense of mystery you seek to evoke? I wrote more comments on your paper, and - if you are eager to see them - I put it in an envelope with YOUR name on it in MY mailbox in MACHMER. The Communication Department mailboxes are on the 4th floor. Ask around. Happy Easter! steph (COM) 09:36, 7 April 2007 (EDT)
[edit] australia
Who said it was "miraculous"? Would it really have made you feel better if I told you sooner? In person? Sorry it's still so cold there. Hey, thanks for fixing Andy's goof. And, did you get your paper? steph (COM) 01:12, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
- ps I added a comment to your work on Unit 3. steph (COM) 01:23, 11 April 2007 (EDT)
[edit] uh oh, nevermind, etc
I'm glad the library session worked out so well for you. :-) As to the rewrites, you can just give it to me tomorrow, no worries. (Altho do please post the updates.) Sorry you missed the deadline for that $200. Bummer. :-/ And, yes, the conference in Australia was great and Sydney itself wasn't bad. ;-) steph (COM) 16:28, 18 April 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Bali!
This is the country that had the bombings and responded in a spiritual fashion. Google it! Then find some newspaper stories or journal articles. :-) steph (COM) 14:28, 21 April 2007 (EDT)
[edit] really?
Points will be lost if it isn't annotated, but the annotation doesn't have to be long (sometimes you might need a paragraph or two to explain why/how you can use a piece, or to give it a thorough summary - depending on the purpose for annotation). For this paper, a sentence or two will usually be sufficient. Just enough to show your logic for selecting this reference instead of another one. I'm pretty sure you can handle it. ;-) steph (COM) 09:20, 26 April 2007 (EDT)
