Thanks to the COM352 students for contributing a bunch of new pages! I'll be moving these pages into the main area of the wiki soon.

got a stray, wanna nuke it? Class:Section 71 - ENG 112 - Spring 2007/Day 11/initial summaries on Kothari
meanwhile, everytime I archive for some reason it turns up on the class list. You tried to explain this to me before (I think) but I obviously don't get it. Sorry! I must not be nesting the Archives correctly from my course homepage, yet I am following the same format that I use every other time I create a new page. Puzzling. steph (COM) 13:21, 4 March 2007 (EST)
[edit] whoops
yeah, they are two of my students, did they not get registered properly? Their info seems different.... ? steph (COM) 16:47, 12 March 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Misplaced pages
In the process of moving the bad pages to subpages of my user page i think i may have created a bunch more bad pages. the only ones i need are those that are the subpages. you have my permission to nuke any ones that aren't in the right place. John? 01:29, 31 March 2007 (EDT)

I will. If there's a link can you share it with me? steph (COM) 20:25, 2 April 2007 (EDT)
[edit] server
hey - can you just remind me when the time gets closer? Right now I'm not sure...I think we will be "in-between" major assignments then but a few dates aren't set in stone and could change.
ps - saw the headline story in the Gazette! Aren't you good. :-) steph (COM) 14:24, 4 April 2007 (EDT)
- What are you thinking in terms of how long the wiki will be down? (A fast private server sounds awesome!) The students are working on a unit in which they've posted links etc on their userpages. It is hard to predict how often/how many will refer back to this, but they'll have a big due date next Tuesday/Thursday....then I'll make 'em do some more work in here...but if you can tell me what you want (a 48 hour block?), and when you want it, I can accommodate the homework schedule to match. steph (COM) 17:22, 18 April 2007 (EDT)
[edit] not yet, please
It might be rough between now and the end of the semester. :-/ I mean, if you've already planned for THIS weekend that would work, but we're actually increasing the rate of use from this point forward...would it be awful to wait three more weeks? steph (COM) 15:27, 27 April 2007 (EDT)
[edit] MOVE this pUPPy!
Hey Gordon, yeah, I am wicked happy with the students' work, all the way around. I just rushed in to set up a few more links. In theory some are still supposed to be posting their last papers but if they aren't up by now I probably need to let go of the hope that they will materialize. So - do your thing! steph (COM) 15:52, 24 May 2007 (EDT)
- Awesome, all the way around: busy April, plugs for the students next fall. :-) I also received a "Technology Fellowship" from within the Writing Program, so will be part of a group exploring various online teaching technologies throughout next year. I'm excited! Take it easy and good luck with the move. steph (COM) 16:09, 24 May 2007 (EDT)
- Definitely I will continue using the UMassWiki. :-) I am much clearer what it is I am asking students to participate in, and I think they grew more as writers just because they really had to think about audience. (Some of this describe this in their final reflection letters.) Will there be new/different hoops for us to jump through? steph (COM) 16:29, 24 May 2007 (EDT)
- ps, how do I get that cute (talk) link to show up with my signature? :-)

[edit] Advertising
So my post on craigslist was flagged after I set up (and paid for) a link to the post from my flyer on facebook. I decided to create a page on the wiki and have the flyer link go there, so it couldn't be removed. Anyways I probably did something funny because the link goes to a new user page. I am hoping that it can stay that way for the next two days then be deleted. John? 11:54, 18 April 2007 (EDT)
[edit] User:John
I know about that post, that is the one I was trying to link to. I copy and pasted the link from the User:John? subpage and it became what I thought was a new user page: User:John (without the ?). But now I see that the ? is in the address, so I think that the wiki just didn't put the ? in the heading, which lead me to believe I somehow created a new user.John? 08:16, 19 April 2007 (EDT)
