Hello, and welcome to UMassWiki!

We suggest you read the following pages to learn your way around the wiki:

If you're here because you're participating in a class that uses the wiki, these two pages are very important to read:

And welcome to Class:Section 68, ENG112! Don't forget to explore the rest of the wiki as well. --Neurophyre(talk) 15:29, 14 September 2006 (EDT)

Erin, I love the weather.  :-) I mean, yeah, sometimes it's a pain. But do you know how important it is? It keeps the planet going. That's basic. It also gives us something to talk about when we're not sure what else to say! What else provides such a common human experience? :-) steph (COM) 20:27, 14 September 2006 (EDT)

ps - I wrote to Sharon about the weather also.  :-) steph (COM) 21:19, 14 September 2006 (EDT)

Erin, I responded to your question, added a Table of Contents for you here, and moved your question on my User talk page to your special space.  :-) steph (COM) 11:44, 17 September 2006 (EDT)
Uh oh! I did say this bit about adding the backslash for new pages but only once and obviously lots of folks didn't hear it. Hopefully Neurophyre will forgive me. Does it make sense to you now, how to fix your pages? I also responded to you about making choices at my User talk page. steph (COM) 23:30, 20 September 2006 (EDT)
Erin, did you see that I User talk:Steph#evarney22 responded? Thanks for asking such a useful question. steph (COM) 12:06, 25 September 2006 (EDT)

Well well well. I can't do a whole lot about it now :-( but...I see you went ahead and posted a second draft? (At the quickest glance possible it doesn't look different than the first? Please revisit it!) Take a look at the feedback I just provided to Kate as well as that which I provided to Sharon. The former will help with the "Proportion" criteria and the latter with the notion of actually creating an argument and taking a position in relation to your identity. steph (COM) 21:29, 2 October 2006 (EDT)

Erin? Where did you look? All the links are up, Homework, Day 8. Did you look? The third is mine (you all read it in class the day of the sub). steph (COM) 22:21, 4 October 2006 (EDT)

[edit] speedy!

Erin, you are too dang quick for me! I'm updating the homework now. Check it again in a half-hour or so, ok? steph (COM) 22:52, 17 October 2006 (EDT)

[edit] Hacking Democracy

too cool for school! I don't have access to recording equipment, do you? I'll send the info around to folks in the Communication Department, maybe someone there can snag it. steph (COM) 13:36, 4 November 2006 (EST)

[edit] class magazine

message to JEMMA! I want your second reflection letter for the class magazine, if you feel ok about adding it. It needs some work but I'll help if you decide to go for it. Timing will be tight (Erin might feel the need to hurt me, but I'm sure we'll manage . . .!) Can you post it or email it to them asap? steph (COM) 19:15, 5 December 2006 (EST)

[edit] Misplaced pages

Hi. I see you've created a bunch of links off your user page to new pages related to Class:Section 68, ENG112. These pages need to be subpages from your user page, similar to the subpages you may have encountered on your class page. Right now they're in the main part of UMassWiki where they don't belong.

In the future, to make a subpage from your user page or your class page, the link should look like this: [[/Name of subpage]]. If you don't like the way the link looks or want to have the text of the link be something else, you would do it like this: [[/Name of subpage|text of link]].

For right now, please move the pages you created to be subpages of your user page. You can do this by:

  1. going to the pages and clicking the "move" tab at the top
  2. when you're asked for a new page name, please put User:Evarney22/ at the very beginning of the page name and leave everything else the same. You must put exactly that piece of text at exactly the start of the new page name.
  3. After you've done that, you can just stick a single "/" character at the beginning of the links in your user page and they should work again

Please feel free to ask questions on my talk page if this is unclear, and thanks for using UMassWiki! --Neurophyre(talk) 18:16, 19 September 2006 (EDT)

[edit] eep!

Hi again. I saw you were having some trouble and realized that you can't have a space in the wikilink before the initial slash "/" that makes a subpage. I took the liberty of un-moving your user page and fixing the links on it, and I moved one of your essays to the properly-linked subpage to give you an example of how it should be done. Sorry if I wasn't clear before. Now when you move the pages you created, for example "blah" to "User:Evarney22/blah" those links should turn blue right away. Again, please feel free to ask if you're confused or have questions. --Neurophyre(talk) 23:00, 19 September 2006 (EDT)

[edit] Hi again!

I saw that some of your classmates are having the same problem, so I made this template to stamp on the talk pages of people having issues with subpages until I have time to write some real documentation on it. I know it's redundant to put this on your page since I've already notified you about what's going on, but it automagically adds you to a list of users so I can remember who to come back and help out later on, so, here it is.

{{UseSubpages|User:Evarney22}}

Hey, your wiki looks slammin'!--Dave 15:35, 5 November 2006 (EST)

[edit] Add to the magazine

I really liked the introduction I did for Ben... If that could be in the magazine (it might be sorta awkward to include) that'd be cool. k thx.--Aletr2elise 00:15, 4 December 2006 (EST)
