Hello, and welcome to UMassWiki!
We suggest you read the following pages to learn your way around the wiki:
- UMassWiki:Guidelines - important!
- Help:Contents - lots of editing tips, including a 1-page printable cheat sheet
If you're here because you're participating in a class that uses the wiki, these two pages are very important to read:

that is so not right!
The Writing Commons is open and everyone there in the Learning Commons should know about it! You must have had bad luck with whichever person you spoke with. Check out the link from our course homepage....
wiki editing
Hmm. I noticed your assignment on the user page has funny formatting. It is probably because you cut-and-pasted a bunch of line spaces and/or tabs (indenting paragraphs, maybe?). If you delete the extra spaces (use edit), you can make it look better (as in, readable). :-)

wikiquiz #1
Can you go and add your wiki signature to the work you did with Amanda Huggenkis?
subpage
Did you see the message from jwanamak? That ought to solve the issue for you, as she said, just click the red text, paste all your work on the page that shows up (it will be an empty text box at first with a message that says something about if you got there by mistake - you didn't!), and save it. Once you save it you can go back to your own User page and the text that was red will now be blue and should work.
If that doesn't work for some reason, I did post a link on the HomePage to a guide for using the wiki that explains how to do different things in plain language.
posting problems
Hmm. I just looked and it does not appear that you have posted the paper in the right place? Your link is still red....for the Library Research unit. So I do not even know where to look or how to advise you. One problem might be if there are many spaces in it, tabs and indents? Those will screw up the formatting.
Did you turn your hardcopy in last Tuesday?
Don't sweat it too much; we'll work it out in lab.
your paper
Did you get it? I think I must have been working on it right at the moment you posted your message to me! :-o
so far so good!
All your papers are in the right place.
The only things you need to do now are
- go to the new homepage, here, and
- see the small boxes to the right of the screen?
- One is for Class Blogs (you need to add the link to your Wordpress Blog), scroll down to see where
- then you'll see boxes for Argument Summaries, Evaluating Arguments, and Political Letters.
- For each, click through and see a page that looks almost identical to the new homepage?
- Edit these pages just as you did the new home page. Use the edit tab at top, scroll down to your name, replace "Paper Title Here" with the actual title of your piece.
Let me know if it works!
maybe
your screen is small, and you have to scroll down to the very bottom? I think the layout actually depends on how much screen space you have.
let me know if this works...crossing my fingers!
