Hello, and welcome to UMassWiki!

We suggest you read the following pages to learn your way around the wiki:

If you're here because you're participating in a class that uses the wiki, these two pages are very important to read:

And welcome to Class:Section 71 - ENG 112 - Spring 2007! Don't forget to explore rest of the wiki as well. You're welcome to edit anything on the wiki -- not just pages for your class.

Important: Since you're going to be editing pages for your class, the following two articles are very important:

You need to understand how to make subpages so your stuff ends up in the right place. Aside from all that, if you just want a quick-start guide on things like how to make text bold or how to make line breaks between paragraphs, try this downloadable and printable Cheatsheet. [edit] Yo! from Steph

Hello Fake Andy and welcome to the course wiki! Don't neglect to read through the information and follow the links provided above. I included the code for "Table of Contents" so you can copy it if/when you want. Also, don't forget to check out changes to the Homepage! steph (COM) 11:32, 18 February 2007 (EST)

[edit] fancier?

It could be, if you wanted to add links for the individual papers? Or not, whatever. But hey, you were supposed to send me some kinda message .... just to build more familiarity with using and getting around this software/website. steph (COM) 16:15, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

[edit] check it

I'm curious about that dinner gig, man, how'd it go? steph (COM) 01:04, 11 April 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Unit Three, Please!

steph (COM) 13:43, 4 May 2007 (EDT)

Hey Andy, I was thinking about the choice between your Unit 2 and Unit 3 papers for the class magazine. No one else has made the point you make concerning Kothari (which is why I like that one) but in terms of the overall potential of the magazine as a showcase of our class's work, I think your Unit 3 will add more in the long run. What do you think? steph (COM) 13:43, 4 May 2007 (EDT)

[edit] dinner gig

It was pretty classy, I wore a suit and everything, got my picture taken with him, etc. The speech he gave the next day was a lot more interesting. A lot of protestors about the war came to challenge him, I think they failed to make their point since his speech wasn't about Iraq at all, more about encouraging young people to get involved in politics. I love politics though, so I really enjoyed it.

On a note related to the class, I'm having trouble finding stuff in the library related to my topic, maybe I'll have to change it. We'll see how the rest of the class goes.

did you have better luck as the library session progressed, or later? We'll assess where you are in class tomorrow, but hopefully you've made some serious headway. The whole Card event sounds great - activism is politics, so its cool he brought people out whether in support/against, you know what I mean? :-) steph (COM) 16:15, 18 April 2007 (EDT)

[edit] From Tom

Hey Andy, just letting you know that you should watch out what you do with your heading markers on people's talk pages. I had to fix what you did on Steph's because everybody's headings went under your "check it" title. No big deal, but just watch that. Thanks.

Thank you, Tom. :-) steph (COM) 01:05, 11 April 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Please

Please, please watch what you're doing with the title headings in people's pages. You did the same thing as before with the "dinner gig" title (congrats on that, btw). But the (==) are used for a reason, to create some sense of order, and if you don't understand how to use them let me know, but please do watch what you do with them. And on a side note, I would recommend putting your papers on your user page onto a new page which will make it easier to load/understand. It's pretty simple, let me know if you can't or don't get it. Thanks. Tom 13:17, 16 April 2007 (EDT)
