[edit] So much for so little me

Nothing in this world matters than having an education, it is the simpler way to earn respect without trouble. In life a person can either fight for their beliefs or deal with whatever life throws at them. I grew up in Haiti where knowledge and an education are worth a lot because they might be the only that a person has. I needed it to live by everyday because it was impossible to wake up and think about the future and not having an education. How would I survive on my own? I had living proof that without education, you are nothing. Some of my Haitian neighbors never attended school, some are doing fine because they have knowledge and knowledge is power. Others are just working from one dirty job to another. Not only is education important, but also life with education is nothing without having your family by your side. I for one have a lovely family that supports me every step of my way. Whenever the world seems like it is coming to an end, whom do I turn to for safety? My family, because I know for a fact that they would never let me down, instead they would lift me up higher. They can never be replaced, the only way to find out is when you are in a bad situation and all of your friends turn their backs on you. If you were rich and suddenly become poor, the only people that will stick by you will be your relative, not your friends.

Identity is finding whom you are to the world especially those people who live around you. The world is a fun place to live in but can also mean trouble. Some people may like you for who you really are and others may hate you for their own reasons. Everyone loves an intelligent person because that person might benefit him or her in some way and others might be jealous because they would want to be intelligent instead of you and might cause harm.

Everybody has two different types of personalities one is good and the other is not so perfect, mostly known as the secretive side. I too have two different personalities through which my friends and family sees me. My dad wants me to be this girl who listens to what her parents tell her one hundred percent and my friends see me as a mysterious girl because they can’t tell my intentions. I try to balance both of personalities as much as I can but sometimes I feel like I’m stuck and don’t what to do. All my life I have been doing what my father wanted until now because he does not have a say in what I do since I don’t live at home. I try to make him happy because I haven’t change that much except I party once/twice a month instead of staying in my dorm all weekend long. Where as at home I go to church and stay in the house all day because my dad always thinks that other kids will have bad influence on me. For God sake, he wants me to avoid having conversations with my own sisters because they don’t listen to everything he tells them.

My friends’ views of me are basic from what I can tell because I am being me ninety five percent of the time. I can laugh as loud as I want to because my dad is not present to tell me that it’s not how a girl is suppose to laugh, go to parties and dirty dance, wear whatever I want without worrying what others will think of me as a Christian. That is only thing I do that is against my religion but then again I need to have fun and not have any regrets. The real me like to party and be innocent at the same time because other peoples opinions about me matters. I always worry about it because I don’t want anyone to think of me as the out of control/crazy girl. I am still growing up and learning along the way, the only thing I am still sure of is that education is the number one element you need in life. If you don’t enjoy life while you can it will be too late and then you be saying if only I knew, I would have done this and that.
