Michael, I can see your point of argument is “Hunger as Ideology is about misogyny.” I agree with your idea and on top of that, I think the author (Bordo emphasizes more on the argument of gender equality of society and she pities women who has to hold back their desires. Your subject is male and female’s relationship to food shaped by our culture. Audience, as you wrote on your paper: women who have a hard time finding independence and strength. You also brought up the fact that Bordo’s article addresses to educated woman and bad men about the current state of oppression. The writer is the speaker herself, Susan Bordo. You have done an excellent job in gleaning all the facts about her and analyze them. (I’m not sure if she is a traditional mother though. How did you know? Where in the article did you find it?) As far as the ethos, pathos and logos go, you have not clearly identify them but I can see you know places where the speaker uses emotional appeal and logical appeal. That might be something you could work on to enhance the quality of your paper. You have a lot of supportive quotes and good analysis of the two sexes in relation to food. Be aware of the repetitions you made in some paragraphs. And good luck in your second draft! Well done!
