[edit] Letter to Senior Analyst
Dear Rachel,
You distinguish between the transmission and ritual views of communication by writing about the suppression of Aborigines and how this is conveyed in the Australian society. The transmission view involves the way this suppression is presented. Australia’s Prime Minister, declared the territories of these people as areas of high gambling, abuse and child molestation. The ‘who’ in this transmission view are the Aborigines. The ‘what, in the ritual view is the suppression of these people. Restrictions on mixed marriages existed and discrimination is evident. The sense of community in relation to the ritual view is a separation between Aborigines and White Australians. The media was online text. The context is Australian society and the content concerns issues that are not acceptable in their society. The function is to bring to light the suppression of the Aborigines.
I am a student in Comm 375 and was randomly assigned to read and respond to your blog. I have not read the article you read, so my response is solely based on your writing. What I hope to have learned from reading your assignment was being able to properly apply and distinguish both ritual and transmission views. Lata gata
