[edit] Introduction of me

Ben Goldberg is the director whose films are sweeping the nation by storm. Born in Sherryn, MA, his career started when he became a communications major at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His eclectic heritage of Austrian, German, Hawaiian, and Polish, combined with his cultural Judaic influence, help to make him a multidimensional and influential power player in the film industry. In Ben’s work you see reflections of great films by directors as Sidney Lumet, and the great Martin Scorsese, specifically their films, Dog Day Afternoon, and Goodfellas, respectively.

To discuss his upcoming movie, “She’s Like Heroin,” I met up with Ben at a restaurant in Sherryn, over a meal of fettuccini alfredo, his favorite dish. After we discussed his many travels, through countries like Mexico and England, we moved on to his personal life. Despite his serious line of films, he revealed that one of his favorite movies was in fact, “South Park: The Movie.” His manner was very liberal, he was a pleasure to interview. Talkative but not overbearing, he spoke just like a normal person, not a big time director. He talked about movies, his favorites being Casino, Lawrence of Arabia, and the anime Akira. He also mentioned his favorite bands, showing interest in Dredg, Sublime, Nirvana, Audioslave, and System of a Down. Not to say that he’s one dimensional, but the tone set by his media tastes is very concrete, dark perhaps, but all in all, powerful and prestigious. The discussion of course moved to “She’s Like Heroin,” due out in theaters October 7th, 2023. Named after his favorite System of a Down song, the crime-thriller is a sure fire box office seller. The main characters, Casper, Rocky, and Lilly (who all happen to be named after Ben’s 3 cats from his childhood) are caught in a love triangle. Both the men are hopelessly addicted to Lilly, hence her being “like heroin.” Drug trafficking also plays a strong role in the film, and the underground world in which both Casper and Rocky reign as kings.

All in all, Ben Goldberg puts all his cards on the table when you meet him, like it or not, which must be why his movies are so ground breaking. All went well except for when I bit on my nails just before leaving the restaurant, apparently hitting his one pet peeve on the head. He let it slide, clearly because he’s just a regular, nice guy.--Aletr2elise 14:38, 19 September 2006 (EDT)

Dear Ben,

Haha, this is great! You were right when you said you made me out to sound like a goddess. I don't know how much of this you meant, but i thought it was very sweet. You made a few mistakes, but really only in naming certain things. Moulin Rouge and Guster were the only two things I noticed though.
I think it's cool that you think I have patience, because I hope I have enough to survive in my job. I love that you called me a loving person. I know I'm supposed to say if you think you were right or wrong, but I thought you made interesting comments at least.
You didn't mention how weird I am, but I'm glad you thought I'm worldly, humble, loving and caring. I thought you made good connections to prove what you think I am. To say I have a wide range of taste concerning music and movies, you mentioned how random my favorite bands/films are. Also you spent a lot of time backing up my "worldly" traits by talking about everything from where I came from, where I've been, what my heritage is, my combination of Greek Orthodox and Christianity, to how my mom and I want to become Jewish. I really don't think you got anything wrong, so good job, nice to meet you, talk to you later:-).
Elise

P.S. You made Vicki sleeping in my bed sound far more sketchy than it was, but it was funny so it's okay. I guess it does illustrate that Vicki and I bonded incredibly fast, because we did... SHE WAS GONE ALL WEEKEND! I was very sad.--Aletr2elise 14:51, 19 September 2006 (EDT)
