So I have decided that I have decided to write my Unit Three paper on the inadequate funding of musis programs throughout the country. I realized today that there have been too many times throughout my life that this problem has effected me. What really got me to come to this conclusion was the fact that in rehearsal today, the pieces that we were playing sounded terrible because one of the marimbas is very out of tune. I began to stem off of this and realized several other times that things went badly or just weren't able to happen becasue of this situation.

For this paper I think that the letter should be sent to somebody who is in charge of funding (I'm not sure who that is) and distributing money to the different departments and schools of the university.

I know that this problem has been ongoing for several years, now, and not just in one community. Music programs tend to not be well taken care of unless the students in them pay an extrodanary amount of money.

This sounds great! I suggest you target UMass in particular because you're here and you can figure out who to write to and research the history etc. You might even do interviews? That would be cool to help you put the specifics of the UMass "case" in historical perspective.
