Dear Adam,

I guess it’s about that time to be wrapping up all of the writing that I have going on for the year. There have been a lot of ups and downs in terms of how I have felt about all of the papers, but, all in all, I really have learned a lot about writing and also some things, thanks to Steph, that I didn’t really know about life.

In terms of my unit three paper, I thought it went fairly decently. I originally thought that it was going to be a breeze because I picked a topic that I am very passionate about. However, it was exactly the opposite of what I thought. I found that it was quite hard to envelop other people’s comments about the issue without making the paper completely opinion based. I did manage, though, to avoid this fairly well.

The biggest thing for me pertaining to this paper was meshing together personal opinion/experience and fact. It actually wasn’t something that I had to consciously think of and worry about like it had been in the previous two papers. In this one I just did it without really thinking about it at all. My placement of where it was needed some work, but I felt that the fact that I could just do it was a big accomplishment.

All in all, I feel that I have learned very much over the past semester. Like I said, this is not just about writing. Granted, the bulk of it was, but Steph also helped me learn about myself and develop my personality as a thriving college student. I would have had no idea where to go with any of these papers without the one on one help that she was always so willing to give. When I questioned as to whether or not anything would come of the class sending out their letters, she explained to me how it would be the start of an entire process that could make that major change that we are all hoping for. I feel like I have gotten insight into much more than I expected coming into the course, and for that I consider myself extremely fortunate.
