There are several communities related to UMass Amherst on the popular Livejournal blogging site, including 
umass_amherst, umass, and fivecollege.
The umass_amherst community is the most active, and is frequently overwhelmed by new users posting frequently-asked questions at the start and end of each semester. It is moderated by 
fireheart. The constant FAQs were the original reason for founding UMassWiki.
