[edit] UMassWiki is (still) recruiting

We need two to four volunteers to take over some functions of UMassWiki. I've left UMass and have less time to manage the wiki, so you may be considered for admin status based on your performance at these tasks. Any user who is interested and has some knowledge of Mediawiki can leave a message on my talk page. --GMorehou(talk) 07:44, 29 August 2006 (EDT) (Yes, these informal positions are still unfilled...) --GMorehou(talk) 12:28, 7 January 2008 (EST)

General Contributors: Pound the random page link and improve articles in need, fill in wanted pages and expand stubs. This is important!

Spam and Grammar Czars: Watch Special:Recentchanges semi-obsessively and perform basic copyediting as needed, and revert spam as needed. If a spam attack is happening, notify User:GMorehou as needed.

Also, join the Facebook group to show your interest!

[edit] MediaWiki upgraded, new skin launched

As part of UMassWiki's move to a new, faster server, MediaWiki was upgraded to version 1.10.0 on May 26, 2007. UMassWiki also got a facelift with a new skin in UMass colors.

[edit] Server move completed after Spring 2007 semester

UMassWiki moved to a new virtual private server at ServInt on May 25-26, 2007. The new server is expected to improve the occasional poor response time and reliability problems seen with our previous shared host. The server is a 3.0GHz quad Xeon, with 256MB RAM guaranteed to our VPS and 1GB burst RAM. We're looking forward to testing it with the influx of students in Fall 2007!
