The Moan and Dove

The Moan and Dove is an excellent beer-centric bar located on West Street in Amherst. It is a little out of the way, but worth the trip for any beer connoisseur. Upon entering, you would expect the place to be populated by fishermen and sheep farmers, but in fact, it's mostly Hampshire kids during the school year.
There are over twenty beers on tap, and over one hundred available in bottles, as well as a selection of liquors available. The music is usually pretty loud, and for the most part, really great. You're more likely to hear indie rock than anything resembling a Top 40 hit. Although they don't serve food, menus are available for Zhang's Kitchen and Latinos, located next door, and Sibie's and Andiamo, located across the street and willing to walk your order over to you.
The music is loud and the peanuts are free.

Regular patrons who drink every one of the the bottled beers offered at The Moan and Dove within a year get a mug with their name engraved on it, to be filled with a very large amount of beer on each visit.
