Thanks to the COM352 students for contributing a bunch of new pages! I'll be moving these pages into the main area of the wiki soon.
Sylvan
From UMassWiki
The Sylvan residential area is located a five minute walk from Northeast and adjacent to the new North complex. The buildings are surrounded by trees. Rooms are arranged in a suite-style layout with several rooms to a suite, a common area, and a dedicated bathroom with two or three toilets, two sinks and a shower.
Sylvan residents have the best chance of getting a single room without a roomate, possibly due to the suite-style layout and reputation of the dorm as unsociable. As of January 2006, it was the only area on campus to have rooms specifically built to be singles.
Sylvan has typically been the statistically least requested dorm for a number of years, and consequently is home to many first year and transfer students.
[edit] Interesting facts
- Once rumored to have been polled as one of best residence areas for sexual activity in New England, perhaps due to the suite-style layout.
