Southwest Area Government

Southwest Area Government (SWAG) is the voice for students living in the Southwest Residential Area at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Officers include a Governor, Lt. Governor, Secretary and Treasurer which are elected in the Spring Semester to serve the following Fall and Spring semesters. SWAG traditionally puts on events called, Southwest Saturday in the Fall, Winter Wonderland in February and Southwest Week in May.
SWAG also works in conjunction with the other area governments (AGs) to advocate for all residential students.
SWAG also oversees the Southwest House Councils by holding elections in the fall, helping with training and continuing communcation among House Councils and the Area Government.
