The Radical Student Union is an aboveground grassroots organization that seeks to restructure society through revolutionary tactics and consensus based decision making. Most members are anarchists. It is the oldest RSO on campus, forming as a Students For A Democratic Society chapter in 1969. The union is located on the UMass campus in the Student Unionand takes great pains to welcome all students including those from other schools, Umass employees and community members. Indeed, many Hampshire College students and non-students are involved. Some issues the group deals with are counter-recruitment, community building, Food Not Bombs, Critical Mass, the oppression of indigenous people, and police.

[edit] Meetings

A regular meeting time will be decided for the 2008 - 2009 school year by the beginning of October. Wednesday night (9/24/08), there will be a preliminary recruitment and planning meeting - all are welcome to attend... as always. The RSU office is located in the upper level of the Student Union - RM 413A.
