Thanks to the COM352 students for contributing a bunch of new pages! I'll be moving these pages into the main area of the wiki soon.
Parking
From UMassWiki
**NOTE: Parking at any Yellow UMass Parking lot will be free for the first week in September!**
Parking at UMass can be complicated or not.
[edit] Guest parking
On weekdays, the safest bet is the Campus Center Parking Garage. You can also get a day pass from Parking Services, located in a trailer in the Mullins Center parking lot.
On weekends (beginning 5pm Friday and ending 9am Monday), many lots near the dorms are open. Make sure to check the signs posted at each lot.
[edit] Student/Staff Parking
The parking lots at UMass are organized into five different categories, not including the Parking Garage. Each lot is given a color: Red, Blue, Green, Purple, or Yellow.
- The Red parking lots are for employee parking only.
- The Blue lots are only available to people with Teaching Assistant or Resident Advisor contracts.
- The Green lots are available for commuter students.
- The Purple lots are available to on-campus students.
- The Yellow lots are available to any member of the campus community.
A parking permit must be purchased for the school year in order to park in any of these lots, and the rates vary based on the lot color and the purchaser's role at the University. A complete chart of the UMass parking permit fees can be found here.
