New Dirt

New Dirt is the name of the large construction project currently at UMass.
Construction projects include:
- Construction of the North Apartments residential area between Northeast and Sylvan. (Completed.)
- The Studio Arts Building, which is being constructed on the corner of North Pleasant Street and Infirmary Way. Completion planned in 2008.
- Façade repair on Lederle.
- A new Integrated Sciences building on North Pleasant Street between Worcester Dining Commons and Morrill Science Center by Fall 2008.
- Current Power Plant demolition in 2008.
- Construction of a new Power Plant behind the Mullins Center by March 2008.
- A new Recreation Center on Commonwealth Avenue by Fall 2008.
- A new Academic Building on Commonwealth Avenue, date to be determined.
- Renovations to the Campus Center Hotel in the Summer of 2007.
- A new Transit Center, completion by the Summer of 2008.
