Michael Gargano is the former Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Campus Life. He served in this position from June 2003 through January 25, 2008. The resignation of Gargano was met with mixed reactions from the campus community.
Before coming to UMass, Gargano was the Associate Vice President of Student and Academic Support Services at George Washington University. Gargano earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Hartford and an Ed.D. and a master's equivalency in higher education from George Washington University.
Currently, Gargano serves as the LSU System Vice President for Student and Academic Support Services.
