Knowles

Knowles Engineering Building is one of the key engineering buildings at the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus. It houses research labs and several of the faculty from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.

The Knowles Engineering Building is one of the five buildings bordering the Engineering Quadrangle in the North part of the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus. The other four are the Marston, Marcus, Thayer, and Paige buildings. To the west of Knowles, parking lot 65 is located, which is mainly reserved for faculty parking. Beyond the parking lot are the Agricultural, Thayer, Paige, and Holdsworth buildings. To the south, the closest buildings are the Draper Lab, Stockbridge (Bowker Auditorium), Campus Center, and Goessmann. On its east side lies the Lederle Graduate Research Center and Marcus. Towards the north, Knowles stands opposite the Marston building.

Knowles is comprised of four floors in total. It consists of mainly faculty offices, research labs (which double as graduate student offices), and a conference room per floor. It is the product of more recent construction as is evident by its more modern architecture in comparison to the neighboring Marcus and Marston buildings.
