Founded in 1962, IGU is one of the oldest local sororities in the country. Sisters gain leadership skills and learn how to accomplish complex tasks because there is no national organization to dictate how the house should be run, but many alumnae are active in supporting the house. Many alumnae have applied what they've learned at IGU and own or manage a wide variety of businesses. Entrepreneurs in training at IGU!!
IGU's house on North Pleasant St. is close to campus. IGU is one of the few sororites at UMass that still owns its own house.
