Gardenshare

Gardenshare is an organic gardening RSO organized by UMass students. The group also consists of community members, faculty, UMass Amherst employees, Five College students, and people from the community. The garden itself occupies nearly an acre of land, and each year participants grow vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers.
Gardenshare also offers a 1 credit class, PLNTSOIL 298G.
[edit] Location
The Gardenshare plot is located on Tillson Farm Road past the Sylvan residence area, near the Recycling Center and Amherst's North Fire Station. This map and directions page shows the location of the garden plot. The building directly northeast of the four-way intersection is the fire station; the road running west from that intersection is Eastman Lane, which runs past Sylvan and Northeast to campus. Note that the address on the map page is inaccurate, but is the closest address to the location of the plot itself.
Offices for the RSO are in the Student Union, room 402.

The official meeting time of GardenShare is at 630 pm on wednesdays as said on Spire, most semesters it is voted to make the meeting time 6 pm. As weather permits the student facilitators provide structured work in the garden with workdays Wednesday afternoon from 3-sunset and Sunday 2-5, neither time is rigid set but announced weekly to accommodate everyone.
