In-Class Activities: 27 March

  • turn in final drafts of the Unit 2 essay.
  • receive regrading sheet (if you did a rewrite) of the Unit 1 essay.
  • free write (prep for reflection letter, prep for another rewrite, thinking about Unit 2, etc)
  • receive actual rewritten paper (Unit 1).
  • small group activity:
  1. Read David's paper with Steph's feedback
  2. What do you learn from the feedback?
  3. How can you apply the lessons of this feedback to your own Unit 2 paper?
  • View An Inconvenient Truth. Continue to consider your own claim and supporting arguments, including your ability to stay focused and use a range of rhetorical strategies.

Homework: due 29 March

Class will be held in Goodell 613! Bring material to load up to the wiki.
  1. Unit One Reflection Letters: type a two-three page reflection letter (addressed to yourself) detailing the things you learned
  • about writing at the college level and
  • about your own writing in particular.
  1. Penguin Points (grammar and mechanics) based on additional feedback
  2. Papers posted to your User Page in the Course Wiki (or on a flashdrive to post during class)
  • earn extra credit
  • Unit 1 final draft
  • Unit 2 final draft (or in progress, if anticipating a rewrite)
  • Unit 1 Reflection Letter
  1. Bring The TextWrestling Book and the Penguin Handbook (prepare to select a research topic for Unit 3)
