Debrief VIII

Notetakers: Please post the small group analyses from in-class work asap.

Extra Credit 1: Response papers to P. Sainath's presentation: "When Farmers Die: Inequality and the Agrarian Crisis in Global India"

Extra Credit 2: Points are being distributed for making copyedit corrections (as Julian did) to the list of online posting rules you all created earlier this week.

Make your second appointment with Steph.

There is going to be (at least the beginnings of) a quiz on Tuesday.

Turns out I lied about those library research sessions (not on purpose, mind you, I misrepresented because I misunderstood). They are set up for the instructors only. You'll have to let me know if you want me to arrange one for our class as one of our regularly scheduled class sessions. steph (COM) 14:35, 13 October 2006 (EDT)

How many times do I need to plug the Writing Center? Go Go GO!!

I am as convinced as ever that you are and will be producing phenomenal work that will be worthy of submission for writing honors later this semester. Don't forget the Majors Fair - coming up in the future. By the way, there is an important upcoming date concerning your ability to withdraw with a "W".

See the message from UMassWiki Administrator GMorehou: our class has helped the tech folk who write the software for MediaWiki (our platform) to make an important improvement.  :-) Way to go, folks! steph (COM) 19:54, 10 October 2006 (EDT)

Any of you who have concerns about your work after your great brainstorming session today, please let me know if you want anything removed. You've got two choices: delete it from the current page (it will go into the history and be basically unsearchable except by a person with much determination) or we can ask GMorehou to "nuke" it (which will remove it permanently).

Personally, I am quite excited about our progress as a class and very proud of all of you. Figuring out the public/private distinction, what "belongs" in each space, and when/if you want your work to be public are crucial skills for achieving your ambitions in the information age. Meanwhile, I can hardly wait to read your final Narratives.  :-) steph (COM) 19:54, 10 October 2006 (EDT)
