Standard Grading

Average work "C/C-"

Image:Starts to look like a possible "A".jpg

It isn't that simply provided full credit and access to sources is adequate, but typically if a student has actually taken care of this level of nitty-gritty then there is also some careful thinking being expressed that goes beyond a basic "answer" and actually engages the challenge of making some kind of real "sense" of the material.

If there is no indication to me that you have done the assigned reading, then I'm left in a quandary. Did you read and build on ideas for which you have no appreciation, or did you simply cut-to-the-chase and skip the pesky reading part?

Automatic Failure

Again I ask, when, where, why, and under what circumstances do you think you are supposed to give credit, and when, where, why, and under what circumstances do you assume you do not have to acknowledge sources that influence your thinking?
