"It is not just how we identify ourselves with the labels in the reading but to understand how our roles help/work in the group."

In-Class Work
I received Group Assessment Forms from three of you that I cannot open: Mike, Allison, and Sarah. Please resubmit (or give me a print copy).
Roles and Task
Basic Assumption Group (the covert accompanying the obvious):
- "Through reading the Tavistock Method I found many things that seemed to make sense about the actions of our group. Most notably was the Basic Assumption Dependency. It seems like at the beginning Steph was the “designated leader†and the aim of our group was to “attain security and protection†from her. I think at many points our group was trying to play “stupid†in order to “express their disappointment and hostility in a variety of ways†most notably complaining." (ap115)!
All that feedback, remember the principles of the Johari Window and learn this new concept of Valence.
- "...Its not just me as the observed, but I also get to be an observer, while also learning how other observe as well. " (freshkicks6)
- "I disagree on is the self related or non group related thoughts. The article explains that people who are involved with group-irrelevant thoughts and ideas are always negative towards the group." (akademakid)
Evaluation
I made a partial individual page and collected more information for the decision concerning evaluation.
Note: a concern for being "right" and doing things "correctly" depends on what your goal is:
- "how to succeed in respect to what most students strive for, which is a good grade. This may be a criticism in efficiency, as success seems a greater possibility when the steps leading there are apparent." (Thumpasorus)
In-Lab Work
your individual pages
We'll do a random drawing for you to look at and respond to two of your peer's individual pages. Post your comments as a Reply to Steph's post, situated for success, and please be sure to include links to each person's individual page. Imagine an audience 'out there' in the world - what can you say about the two pages you've read to entice someone who knows nothing about us to come and take a look?
