Bartlett Hall is located in the Southern part of campus across from Herter Hall. Bartlett consists of classrooms and offices for various Academic Departments and their faculty.

The following departments and programs list offices in Bartlett. Many classes in these fields are often taught in Bartlett.

[edit] Layout

Bartlett hall is very convoluted in both styling and layout. There are four floors, three of which are true for the entire building. The fourth floor, which houses primarily offices, a Graduate Lounge and a seminar room, is only a part of the north section of Bartlett; the rest of Bartlett has no fourth floor.

The second and third floors are typical department building layouts: classrooms of various sizes, offices, etc. Main floor has a small bank of Apple computers, the primary English office, and is also full of windows. This makes the main floor, and any other well-windowed areas of Bartlett, a very bright and shiny place to be on a sunny day. The basement of Bartlett contains an auditorium/lecture bowl, classrooms, offices and the various heating and water pipes, etc.

Bartlett's exterior and surrounding area is a nonsensical collision of strange symbols, design and style. The exterior varies between pale colors and windows, red brick or cement. There is a rusted out sculpture of dice planted in the middle of a rock garden of some sort. There are small elevated tree planters, random benches and, when the season is right, squirrels the size of small dogs. All that said, Bartlett is often well-peopled; it's not unusual, especially in nice weather, to see gads of people lounging about in lazy conversations on the grass, benches and garden.

[edit] Trivia

In addition to the number of classes taught at Barlett Hall, it is also hands down the easiest place to bum a cigarette off someone. For some reason English majors smoke like chimneys and are very generous. So if you are having a nic fit, head over to Barlett and you'll have a cigarette in minutes.
