24-Hour Quiet Floor

From UMassWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

The 24-Hour Quiet Floors in the UMass housing system are just how they sound: a floor in a building in which all the residents agree to keep reasonably quiet at all times to allow other residents to study. There are three 24-Hour Quiet Floors in existence at UMass: one each in Baker and Brooks halls, both in the Central residential area, and one in John Quincy Adams tower in the Southwest residential area.

The 24-Hour Quiet Floor is a "Special Housing Option" and students will not be assigned to live in these areas unless they specifically ask to. However, this does not mean that every other dorm at UMass is really noisy all the time!
